TOPEKA (KSNT) - CASA's 37th annual Home for the Holidays wrapped up its 37th year in the Capital City. This year there were three homes around Topeka that were decorated and open for tour. 27 News checked in on them on Nov. 24. One of the homes included Washburn's President JuliAnn Mazachek's new home on Washburn's campus. Mazachek was happy to be apart of CASA's tour this year to help raise money for their fundraiser.  Topeka ‘Zoo Lights’ opens for holiday season "This is a major fundraiser for their organization which is court appointed special advocates, and they work with children who are in the legal system and in foster care and this is their major fundraiser every year," Mazachek said. "And so, we're thrilled to be able to be a part of that and to open Washburn's home for people to be able to tour. " This event happens every year the weekend before Thanksgiving to start giving inspiration for those holiday decorations.  27 news is a proud sponsor of this event.  For more local news, click here.
