VALDOSTA, Ga. (WSAV) - Valdosta Police (VPD) discovered the body of a deceased person in the structure that once housed the Ichiban Steakhouse. According to the VPD Facebook page, police responded to a call from a citizen on Friday, November 22 at approximately 8:15 a.m. Upon arrival at the building, vacant for several years, they located a partially decomposed body inside. Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel later responded to the scene. Through investigation, detectives identified the body as that of a male 46-year-old Valdosta resident. The male appeared to have been staying in the building for a prolonged period. Detectives contacted family members of the deceased, who confirmed he had health issues. The current status of the investigation shows no signs of foul play or trauma. At this time, the death appears to be of natural causes.
