Nov 25, 2024
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond-based organization is making the holidays brighter for families in need this Thanksgiving.
At 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, Citizens Against Crime, Inc., along with its partners, will gather at Richmond Police Headquarters to deliver Thanksgiving baskets to families across the city.
The organization is dedicated to supporting families of homicide victims. They will deliver baskets to these families and also other families struggling this holiday season.
Past baskets have included traditional holiday staples. This annual tradition has seen the continued participation of Mayor Levar Stoney since he took office in 2016. Monday will be his final Thanksgiving basket delivery with the organization as mayor.
Volunteers and participants will meet at Richmond Police Headquarters on West Grace Street to begin their deliveries at 2:30 p.m.
