Rhode Island Community Food Bank releases report on hunger

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two out of every five households in Rhode Island have difficulty affording adequate food and are food insecure, according to a new report released by the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
The report, released yearly, found that 38% of Rhode Island households are food insecure, with “higher rates among communities of color.”
The Rhode Island Community Food Bank and its statewide agencies are serving a record number of people each month, which has been documented this year at 84,400.
Today, officials will speak on their findings before the Thanksgiving holiday.
