Mom and Dad have four boys of their own, two are away in college, one works and helps with household expenses and their youngest helps care for his cousins.
Give this family of 9 a helping hand through the holidays
A few years ago, Mom's "sister" lost custody of her three children because of crimes against them by a household member.
Mom and Dad "took in" her two nephews and niece.
Both her nephews have muscular dystrophy. The older boy, 19, is confined to a wheelchair but their home is not wheelchair accessible, making it difficult to move around the house.
Doctors told them his life expectancy is only into his 20s.
The younger boy is five years old. Doctors said muscular deterioration will likely start around age seven. They recommended an experimental treatment that may prolong his life by several years.
Both Mom and Dad, who works full-time, alternate taking off quite a bit of work to bring him for treatment in California.
They are determined to provide as much love, comfort and care to the boys and opportunities to their niece, who just turned 18 years old.
They would greatly appreciate learning toys for their younger nephew and a recliner chair, games and sensory items or toys for their older nephew.
A dresser or something to put her clothes in for their niece and a gift card to the mall would also be nice.
Mom and Dad could use pots, pans, an air fryer for quick and easy meals, grocery, Target, Walmart or Sams Club gift cards.
In the spirit of laulima, our many hands working together, let's help this family that is so lovingly dedicated to caring for their sibling's children have a happy holiday season.
