BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Police arrested a second man in connection with a fatal shooting in 2018 in southwest Bakersfield.
Tyrell Cheadle, 29, was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and other crimes, police said. He's being held without bail and is due in court Tuesday.
Earlier this year, Christopher Nathaniel Kenney, 25, was charged in connection with the same shooting, which killed Jeremy Charles Littlejohn and wounded four others on Chandler Court, south of Wilson Avenue and west of Wible Road. It's alleged the shooting was gang-related.
Kenney later released a rap video on YouTube with two other Eastside Crips that begins with a reenactment of the shooting, police said. Kenney’s DNA was found on shell casings at the scene, according to court documents.
Someone told police Kenney knew ahead of time where Littlejohn would be. He said Kenney afterward bragged about the killing because he “wanted recognition” in the gang, according to the documents.
