PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD. (DC News Now) -- The Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department (PGFD) said a man died after a fire broke out at a duplex in Brentwood on Sunday.
PGFD said that at about 12:40 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 3400 Block of Webster St. for a fire in a two-story duplex.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they saw fire coming from the first floor.

Firefighters quickly began battling the flames; however, just a few moments after arriving, responders found the man, who had died, inside. The man's identity is being withheld until an autopsy is conducted, according to officials.
As of Sunday evening, the cause of the fire is still under investigation; however, investigators noted that the residence where the fire erupted was known to contain "extreme hoarding conditions."
“He was nice, nice guy,” said Alex Anteneh, who lives next door to the unidentified man.
After the fire, the windows and the property remained filled with items collected by the man.
Those items, according to Anteneh, caused a problem for firefighters who responded to the fire.
“When they broke that window, as soon as they broke it, there were stacks of those bins, those little Home Depot black and yellow bins," Anteneh said. "They couldn’t even get in.”
Neighbors described the man as elderly, saying he had lived alone in the home since the 1980s.
“Possibly it’s our failure too, not intervening in time because he did give the sign that he’s just not able to care for himself,” said Tesfaye, Alex’s father.
No other injuries were reported.
