TOPEKA (KSNT) - It's Thanksgiving week and many businesses are beginning to prepare for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.  One local boutique located at West Ridge Mall hosted 'Pink Weekend' as a way to not compete with big stores for the holiday shopping weekend.  But also, as a way to promote many local vendors around the capitol city.  Topeka ‘Zoo Lights’ opens for holiday season "We hosted 'Pink Friday' at my boutique but then we hosted 'Pink Weekend' and invited vendors in and other small businesses so that they could promote their stuff," Cassandra Martinez, owner of Boss Babes Boutique, said. Martinez also tells 27 news to shop local small businesses first as they are what hold the community together and wouldn't be here without the community's support.  For more local news, click here.
