MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — A home in Morgan County sustained heavy damage during a fire on Saturday night. According to a Facebook post from the Green Township Fire Department, first responders were dispatched to the 9000 block of East Big Rock Road around 8:02 p.m. to investigate a reported residence fire. When crews arrived at the scene, they found visible flames and smoke pushing from a home. Because of the large amount of flames emanating from the home, firefighters implemented defensive measures only. The family that lived in the residence was not home at the time of the fire, and nobody was injured by the blaze. Per GTFD, the fire did not damage a newly constructed garage located adjacent to the home. GTFD also reported that it received assistance at the scene from the Martinsville, Bargersville, Madison Township, Washington Township, Morgantown and Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Departments.
