Crime of Week: 2 women struck, killed in hitandrun along I10

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- El Paso Police and Crime Stoppers of El Paso need your help in finding a hit-and-run driver who was involved in a crash earlier this month that killed two women along Interstate 10 in Downtown El Paso.
At about 12:30 a.m on Saturday, Nov. 16, two women attempted to cross Interstate 10 West from south to north near the Downtown exit. As the women were crossing an exit ramp, a vehicle on the ramp struck the women. Moments later, another vehicle struck one of the women and dragged her to the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express at 409 E. Missouri.

That second driver momentarily stopped and then fled the scene, according to police and Crime Stoppers.
The first driver remained at the scene and called for emergency assistance. Investigators found security video that captured the vehicle that fled.
That vehicle is described as a silver-colored minivan. Witnesses described the driver as a heavy-set Hispanic man with a short white beard. The women were Hispanic. One was believed to be in her early 30s and the other in her mid- to late teens.
Neither of the women survived the crash and died at the scene.
Investigators are still working on confirming their identity and notifying family.
