BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Here are the top stories that dominated the news during the past week, curated by the KX News digital staff: 1: Minot declares snow removal emergency. During the emergency, no vehicle parking is allowed on Priority 1 and Priority 2 emergency snow routes. The parking restrictions will help city crews remove snow more efficiently and safely. 2: More details emerge on man arrested for sex crime in Minot. A man was in court on Monday afternoon, after investigators say he was sending sexual-related messages to a teen on social media. Police arrested Benjamin Berg on Friday, who appeared in Ward County Court on Monday. Berg is a former Minot Public School employee and previously served on Minot's city council. He is now being charged with a felony count of Luring Minors by Computer, and his next court date is December 26th. 3: Deputies now looking for woman previously arrested in Hazelton. Deputies in Emmons County say Amber Reamann was ordered to show up at the sheriff's office last month to be tested for alcohol, but skipped the appointment. As a result, a judge in Linton ordered that Reamann must forfeit her bond and issued a bench warrant for her arrest last week. 4: Winter storm racing through North Dakota. Mother Nature has decided winter in North Dakota should start with a bang: Cold temperatures, high winds, and snow everywhere. Blizzard conditions extend across the state with the northern tier bearing the brunt of the wind and snow. It's a little better further south, but then things pick up again in a line along the South Dakota border. 5: Man charged with assaulting medical worker in Williston hospital emergency room. According to Williston Police, officers were sent to the CHI-St. Alexius Medical Center Emergency Room November 15 regarding a report of an assault on a nurse. When officers arrived, they interviewed a nurse who said while medical staff were assessing a male patient, the man became upset. The nurse said she tried to de-escalate the situation and said she was then struck in the chest by the patient's elbow. The man then allegedly used his arm or shoulder to push the nurse into the door frame. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Today's Top Stories SIGN UP NOW
