1 hospitalized after crash in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A 64-year-old from Rochester needed to be rescued from a crash Sunday afternoon, officers announced. It happened in the area of Mt. Read Boulevard and Driving Park Avenue.

On scene, a News 8 photojournalist could see two vehicles being towed away. The red vehicle had its airbags deployed, and the front of the black car had some damage.
According to the Rochester Police Department, officers were called to the area just before 4 p.m. where they found the two vehicles crashed. The passenger in one of the vehicles, identified as a 64-year-old city resident, needed to be pulled out with the help of firefighters, police said.

The victim is expected to survive their injuries. They were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated. No other injuries were reported.
Police said it appeared as though drugs and alcohol were not factors in this case. It's still unclear how the crash happened. News 8 has reached back out for additional details. We have yet to hear back.
