CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A mid-sized SUV careened into a home early Sunday morning and came to rest just inches from a bed where someone was sleeping, Clovis police say.
Around 3:15 a.m. their department received a call from a resident in the 3200 block of Sierra Madre Avenue, near Blackwood Avenue, reporting a vehicle that had crashed into a house.
Initially, police say, they believed there were injuries as a result of the collision. But as it turns out, officers say no one was seriously injured.
The driver of the Nissan Murano had two children in the back seat at the time the car crashed into the front of the home.
The children were transported to an area hospital as a precaution.
Investigators say the driver underwent a DUI evaluation, and the woman displayed no obvious signs of impairment. A blood test was also administered to the driver.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and a spokesperson for the department says no arrests have been made.
