Staff were onsite within minutes of notification, an emergency crew is securing the building, and a building inspector is onsite to ensure the building is safe to use. The most significant damage is to the animal arrivals area, which serves as the front desk for intaking stray animals, lost animal redemptions, surrender appointments, and more. That area will require extensive repairs. The WHS management team is working on a plan to reroute services from the main entrance area, and care for the animals inside the building has not been interrupted. Thank you so much to the first responders, volunteers, and our staff for making sure the building is safe – and the animals are getting lots of TLC today!
