Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams suffers torn ACL, out for season
Nov 24, 2024
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee.
Williams sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s 125-119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He drove to the basket and took a big step before falling to the ground. He needed to be helped off the court.
Williams, a Charlotte native that attended Providence Day High School, was traded to the Hornets in the offseason. He’s in his sixth year in the league after starting his career with the Boston Celtics.
Williams was in the midst of the best season of his career. He’s started in seven of 16 games and averaged 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Charlotte currently sits at 6-10 on the year and is 11th in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets’ depth will be tested as it is still without forward Miles Bridges and centers Nick Richards and Mark Williams.
