3 arrested, training grenades, drugs, 50+ guns recovered in Louisiana

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Three people have been arrested following a search executed at a Slidell-area home which resulted in the recovery of training grenades, drugs and guns.
According to the Slidell Police Department, the search came as a result of an investigation into methamphetamine distribution and was led by the department's narcotics division in collaboration with the Covington Police Department, the Louisiana State Police, the 22nd Judicial District Attorney's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
In the search, investigators say they found three training grenades, over 50 firearms, of which at least two were reportedly stolen, around 20 grams of methamphetamine, assorted prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 46-year-old David Nolan, of Slidell, 45-year-old Brandy McDowell, of Slidell and 43-year-old George Bethea IV, of Arabi.

Nolan allegedly claims to be affiliated with a motorcycle gang and was booked into the Slidell City Jail on several drug-related offenses, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, possession/manufacturing of bomb-making material and possession of a firearm while in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
McDowell was booked on one charge of possession of a scheduled II controlled dangerous substance.
Bethea was booked on several drug-related offenses, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting an officer by providing false information and injuring public records. He was also found to be a fugitive out of New Orleans for alleged involvement in an auto theft.
