SWAT call in east Austin ends with suspect in custody

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A family disturbance call led to a SWAT callout in east Austin early Sunday morning, according to the Austin Police Department.
Austin police said the callout ended peacefully around 12:25 p.m. with the suspect in custody.

Police received a gun hotshot call around 5:38 a.m. for a family disturbance on Garden Street where one person may have a firearm.
Police responded and found a male with a possible firearm. The suspect then barricaded himself in a vehicle, police said.
Police said the SWAT team was called to help, due to the serious nature of the call.
