AUSTIN (KXAN) — Going to football practice with a stomach full of Thanksgiving turkey is a privilege in Texas, and a handful of teams from Central Texas are still alive in the state playoffs to take advantage of it in the regional semifinals. Lake Travis and Westlake are one win away from making it another Battle of the Lakes in the regional finals, but they have business to take care of. The Cavaliers face San Antonio East Central at 1 p.m. Friday in Seguin while the Chaparrals take on former district foe Buda Johnson at 1 p.m. Friday in Austin at Burger Stadium. Texas high school football playoffs: 2nd round scores from Friday, Nov. 22 In 6A Division II, Vandegrift faces Cibolo Steele at 3 p.m. Friday inside The Alamodome. In 4A Division I, Lampasas heads north to Sweetwater to take on Canyon West Plains at the Mustang Bowl. Kick is slated for 7 p.m. Friday.
