Fall River Community Action and Suppression Team makes 5 arrests

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said its Community Action and Suppression Team made five arrests on Eighteenth Street on Nov. 23.
Jillian Varela was charged with possession of Class A and Class B drugs after a search warrant allegedly found crack cocaine and fentanyl in her residence.
John Teixeira was charged with possession of a Class B drug after a similar warrant allegedly seized crack cocaine from his apartment.
Melissa McDermott was also charged with possession of a Class B drug for alleged possession of Suboxone.
Tanya Correa and Carlos Lima were arrested for outstanding warrants.
The department said it had previously received complaints from residents of the area for illegal drug activity.
