VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) -- USD received the No. 4 overall seed in the FCS Playoffs as announced during the selection show Sunday. They have a first-round bye for a second straight season. USD will play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 7 against either Tarleton State (Texas) or Drake (Iowa). The Coyotes claimed as share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference championship for the first time this season. They went 9-2 overall, including 7-1 in the league, which tied SDSU and NDSU atop the standings. The Yotes finished the regular season with a dramatic one-point win over the Bison, who were ranked No. 1 in the country, on Saturday. South Dakota has won three straight following its overtime loss to South Dakota State.
