Norfolk Police take 7 people into custody following Sunday morning barricade

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- Norfolk Police took seven people into custody after a barricade situation Sunday morning that lasted several hours.
Police first tweeted just after 5 a.m. that they had responded to the 3100 block of Grandy Avenue for a barricaded person.

They later shared that four people were taken into custody and no one was hurt. At 9:15 a.m. they provided an update that they actually took seven people into custody and reported that the scene was officially cleared at that time.
We are working to learn what led up to this barricade and if anyone faces criminal charges.
