New Orleans airport officials share holiday season travel tips

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — As the holiday travel season begins, officials with the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport are sharing tips for travelers.
According to the airport, more than 341,000 seats will be available to and from the MSY airport from Tuesday, Nov. 26, through Monday, Dec. 2.

Airport officials said they expect Dec. 1 to be the busiest travel day of the Thanksgiving holiday.
When making plans for your flight, MSY officials recommend arriving at least two hours before your flight to check your bag, get through security and find your gate.
Early voting starts for December Congressional General Election in Louisiana
MSY officials said the airport's busiest times are from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
If you're traveling with gifts, MSY officials recommend keeping them in bags to avoid re-wrapping in case TSA needs to check the item.
According to a news release, TSA is also working to upgrade security equipment with 11 new automated screening lanes that will allow two additional lanes to open during busy times.
