Clouds starting to dissipate early this afternoon
Nov 24, 2024
Even though Sunday has "sun" in it, we saw overcast skies rule the morning. The good news is that it will not stay cloudy for the entire day, as sunshine looks to break out this afternoon, with some clouds already dissipating. This will be from a warm front that lifts itself through the area. More clouds do return overnight.
Afternoon temps climb through the mid-to-upper 40s, reaching around the 50° mark across the area.
Even with the day starting off cloudy, we will see temperatures climb into the lower 50s for high temperatures thanks to that warm front. We'll be dry for the day.
Upper 40s and sunny moments at 2 PM.Highs today reach the lower 50s,. Areas north of Fort Wayne see mid-to-upper 40s.Temperatures in the mid-upper 40s just after sunset.
The passage of a warm front today means a system will be moving through, and we will see the beginning of the system tonight. Rain showers/drizzle move in starting tonight, making it a dreary, overcast, and rainy overnight. More rain showers/drizzle will last through Monday, bringing more overcast skies. Highs still get into the mid-50s, though, as mild air rushes in from the south. Better chances for rain or drizzle will be in the morning or evening hours on Monday.
Scattered showers/drizzle overnight Sunday into Monday.Showers/drizzle will remain throughout the day, but more scattered, especially late morning through the afternoon.More showers/drizzle along a cold front.
Cold air rushes in on Tuesday, and we'll see partly cloudy skies. Highs then reach around 40°.
We stay in the 40s for Wednesday, and then our next weather system may approach Wednesday night through Thanksgiving. There is the potential of some wintry impacts to the area. However, confidence is currently low regarding the track and the timing of the potential for rain/snow. Where this system tracks will ultimately determine what form of precipitation we experience. If the system stays far enough south, we would not see any precipitation at all, or it could track just right for heavy amounts of rain and/or snow. Stay tuned for updates!
Regardless of where this system tracks, there lies a high probability of us seeing a cold start to December, with highs only in the lower 30s to mid-20s! Dig up those heavy coats, hats, and gloves!
It's "brr"-ginning to look a lot like Christmas (for the start of December).
