Thanksgiving at Slice 420
Nov 24, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) — It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is almost here, but at Slice 420 in Colorado Springs, the holiday has already arrived. 2024 marks the fifth year the local pizza spot has been serving its Thanksgiving pizza, and this time, they've added some exciting new twists to the recipe.
Christian Patriarca, Owner of Slice 420 Shows FOX21 News how to make its Thanksgiving Pizza
Christina Patriarca and his wife Stefany opened Slice 420 in September 2017, focusing on offering fresh, local, and flavorful food. Their Thanksgiving pizza is a true reflection of that passion for quality.
"Our stuffing is made with our own bread, we get fresh turkeys, we roast them in-house, it's beautiful," Christian Patriarca, Owner of Slice 420 explained. "We have in-house Yukon Gold potatoes and homemade stuffing. We make the cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries and use orange juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, just like mom makes at home. We puree that down and put it on the pizza with some gravy and fresh rosemary."
Patriarca shared that by September, people in Colorado Springs are already asking when the Thanksgiving pizza will be making its return. As a pizza professional, he's always happy to deliver what customers request, while constantly brainstorming his next big idea.
"I want to be creative, I want to connect with the community," Patriarca said. "That's why we have the buffalo chicken mac and cheese pizza, that's why we have a shrimp scampi pizza, a crab rangoon pizza. Every Sunday you can come to Slice 420 and get chick and waffles on a pizza."
The Thanksgiving pizza is available at both Slice 420 locations, Old Colorado City and Oro Blanco, until Friday, Nov. 29. After that, customers can expect a classic Christmas pizza.
"We're thinking about maybe putting filet mignon on a pizza, you know, really taking things to the next level in December and bringing in a new year," Patriarca said.
The owners of Slice 420 believe New York-style pizza is the best kind of pie, and say theirs is the best of the best. Christian has been crafting pizzas since he was 12, and his passion for it has never faded.
"I love to eat, it's probably my first or second favorite thing to do," Patriarca explained. "When I go out, I want to enjoy what I'm eating and I want to give our guests the same experience. When you guys come in, we want to make sure that you're satisfied and feel like your family because when you come into Slice 420, you are family."
The owners of Slice 420 believe they are the best New York-style pizza in Colorado Springs for two reasons: the pizza itself and their mission.
"We believe that businesses have an obligation to serve their customers and community in the best way possible, so for us, it's not just about making the best pizza in Colorado Springs but the heart and soul the heart and soul that goes into our work and the good we can do for the community. Regardless of what you get from the Slice 420 menu, you're not only getting a delicious meal but helping out the local area because we donate portions of all our proceeds to a variety of charities and nonprofits," Patriarca said.

When Christian and Stefany welcomed their child in 2013, they faced a difficult decision. The couple told FOX21 News their daughter Sofia started having seizures at six weeks old, and she was diagnosed with Quad Spastic Cerebral Palsy at two years of age. The Patriarcas decided to move to Colorado where they could legally obtain medical marijuana and saw the difference they saw in Sophia was monumental.
"Medical marijuana has been the ultimate answer," Christian explained. "We thank God for bringing us out here. We have this miracle plant and Sophia is 95% seizure-free. We bring awareness to medical marijuana, and we're very embedded in the community."
Stefany is on the Arc Pikes Peak Region board, a group of experienced and passionate defenders of the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The couple also uses their business to host monthly pizza cooking sessions for people with disabilities.
"Our mission is to spread love and hope through the community," Patriarca said.
