INDIANAPOLIS — A person was killed in a shooting at a McDonald's on the near northeast side of Indianapolis. Per the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the McDonald's located at 2425 East 38th Street around 9:01 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located a victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. IMPD initially reported that the victim was transported to a local hospital in "extremely critical condition." In a subsequent update, police confirmed the victim had died. Investigators are still working to determine the exact age of the victim, though they believe he is an adult male. Police reported that the shooting happened near a car that was parked at the McDonald's. IMPD indicated that the victim ran into restaurant after the shooting unfolded. Police are still investigating the shooting. As of a Saturday evening briefing, law enforcement had not identified any suspects during its examination of the shooting. Investigators reported that witnesses at the McDonald's said they did not see what happened before the victim ran into the restaurant.
