LSU Football gets back on track in 2417 victory over Vanderbilt

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU Football, suffering from a three-game losing skid, got back in the win column against Vanderbilt on Saturday night, 24-17.
The Commodores had previously beaten Alabama and Auburn and even had the same records as LSU — 6-4 overall, 3-3 in SEC play.
LSU senior running back Josh Williams set the tone early with two first-half rushing touchdowns.
The Tigers fell behind on Vandy's first play from scrimmage, a 63-yard strike from QB Diego Pavia to Quincy Skinner Jr.
However, the LSU defense held the 'Dores offense to just three total points over the next three quarters, and LSU scored a touchdown in each of those first three quarters.
Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier eclipsed the 300-yard mark through the air, amassing 332 total passing yards, one touchdown and no turnovers on his night.
The Bayou Bengals return to Tiger Stadium for their regular season finale vs Oklahoma next Saturday, Nov. 30, for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
