An Italian tourist was slashed Saturday morning in a random attack in Manhattan, cops said. The 42-year-old tourist was walking north at Madison Ave. and E. 37th St. in Murray Hill around 10:40 a.m. when he was approached by an unidentified woman who swung at him with a knife, slashing the victim in the right hand, causing a laceration. The incident was said to be unprovoked. The slasher fled northbound on Madison Ave. The victim declined to be taken to a hospital and was treated by EMS at the scene. Cops released a photo of the slasher, who was wearing a purple sweatshirt, blue jacket, black pants and black and white sneakers. Just a few days earlier, on Wednesday, a 55-year-old Danish tourist was slashed in the face on the Upper West Side by Joshua Zinberg, 25. The victim who was visiting from Europe, was approached from behind by Zinberg, who slashed him from the right ear, along the right cheek and down to his neck. “F— you, guys!” Zinberg reportedly shouted at the tourist and his two companions. Zinberg was arrested Thursday after his mother identified him to police. Anyone with information regarding this latest slashing incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
