The RMSC Council is a volunteer service organization that supports all three locations of the RMSC (The Museum & Science Center, the Strasenburgh Planetarium, and the Cumming Nature Center) through annual fundraising events. Lyndsay Compitello, Vice President of Marketing & Guest Experience at the RMSC said this weekend allows vendors to reach new audiences while displaying their talents, and provides an opportunity for the RMSC to lift up the vibrant art community in our region. The sale is filled with work by more than 160 fine artists and craftspeople. RMSC Museum & Science Center and Eisenhart Auditorium will be transformed into a holiday shopping wonderland this weekend. Visitors can expect to find locally made gifts for the holidays while supporting individual artists and their favorite non-profits. Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Cunningham House Studio. Juried exhibitors from the region will showcase creative, unique, hand-made items for purchase including: fiber arts, ceramics, glass, jewelry, paintings, photography, prints, mixed media, sculpture, woodwork, and more. Exhibitors will travel from across New York and several neighboring states. "This holiday tradition is the perfect opportunity for our community to shop local for the holidays while participating in a unique Rochester event," Compitello said. The annual RMSC Council Holiday Bazaar was founded over 50 years ago as a modest Stocking Stuffer Sale. Today, the Holiday Bazaar attracts more than 5,000 shoppers, and is the RMSC Council's most successful annual fundraising event. The Museum & Science Center will only be open to Holiday Bazaar patrons, and some exhibits may be closed this weekend. The RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium will remain open for regular operating hours. The event will run Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
