Nov 23, 2024
A man was killed Saturday morning and another was taken into custody after a multi-vehicle crash that closed northbound Tower Road in Aurora, police said.
Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan wrote in an email that the driver of a Jeep, who had an outstanding warrant, was speeding and struck the driver of a Chevy Cobalt at the intersection of Tower and 40th Avenue.
Officers responded to the crash at about 7:15 a.m. The Jeep rolled over after the crash, and both drivers were taken to local hospitals, where the driver of the Chevy has since died. A third vehicle was damaged by debris, but the driver was uninjured.
The driver of the Jeep will be taken to jail on his outstanding warrant as well as charges related to the crash once he is released from the hospital, Moylan said. The Office of the Coroner for Adams and Broomfield Counties will identify the victim.
