Person dead after being submerged in Sonoma County floodwater

(KRON) – A person has died after being submerged in a vehicle in floodwater near Highway 116 and Mays Canyon Road in Guerneville, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
At 11:29 a.m. on Saturday, the sheriff's office was informed of a person trapped in a vehicle that was in floodwater in Guerneville.

Deputies said they arrived less than ten minutes later and at 12:09 p.m., the victim was pulled out of the water. Deputies believe the victim to be a man. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, it is uncertain how long the victim was in the water.
