MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin Timothy M. O’Shea announced that a 37-year-old Wisconsin woman was sentenced to 1.5 years in federal prison by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson on Tuesday. Simmeka Tibbs of Madison pled guilty to a fentanyl distribution charge on Aug 15. According to the release, co-defendant Lildre Brown had arranged to distribute heroin laced with fentanyl between Dec. 2023 and Feb. 2024. Brown was sentenced to 85 months in federal prison on Nov. 7 in the case. In one instance, co-defendant Nicole Sanders delivered nearly 100 grams of fentanyl, while in the other two, Tibbs delivered it for Brown. An investigation unveiled that Tibbs delivered Drugs for Brown regularly. UPDATE: Green Bay woman accused of neglecting mother appears in court Judge Peterson noted that Tibbs brought a child with her while delivering drugs in one instance while emphasizing the serious crime of distributing a dangerous drug. Sanders is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 10. No more details were provided.
