ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Ibero-American Action League hosted its 11th annual coat giveaway for Rochester residents in need of a winter coat this winter. The event was held at Eugenio Mara de Hostos Charter School on Zimbrich Street in Rochester.
Coats were distributed on a "first come, first served" basis. Participants received a warm meal, a gently used coat, and will be connected to local resources.
The event is co-sponsored by Advantage Federal Credit Union, Eugenio Mara de Hostos Charter School, The SUMMIT Federal Credit Union, UPNY Planet Aid, and Poder 97.1FM.
The Ibero-American Action League was founded in 1968. It's a dual language multi-service agency that advocates for Latinos and the underserved.
