An investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot Saturday morning in Southwest Philadelphia. According to police, officers responded to a shooting on the 5600 block of Whitby Ave. around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, police said officers found a man in his 30s suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to the hospital by police and pronounced dead at 3:55 a.m. Police said the investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered.
