CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — On Saturday, November 23 from noon to 4 p.m., Brittlebank Park will host Paws in the Park as the Charleston Animal Society celebrates 150 years of service with an afternoon of food, fun, and furry friends. As the largest fundraising event of the year for the Charleston Animal Society, Paws in the Park offers something for everyone. Guests can explore interactive activity zones, enjoy live music, and sample delicious food and drinks while supporting the organization’s lifesaving work. Highlights of the event include: Chili Cook-Off & Oyster Roast: Enjoy complimentary oysters and chili with your ticket. The cook-off features 29 local restaurants competing for the “Chili Champion” title, with attendees sampling and voting for their favorites. Local Brews: For an additional $10, attendees can savor samples from nine local breweries, including Commonhouse, New Realm, Palmetto, and Munkle Brewing, served in a commemorative glass. Live Music: Performances by Vallenato Flavor, Lauren Hall, and headliner Midnight City Band will keep the energy high throughout the afternoon. Adoption Zone: Meet adoptable pets and perhaps find your newest four-legged family member. Food options extend beyond chili and oysters, with vendors like Smash City Burger and Cachitas offering tasty alternatives. Kids 12 and under attend for free, making it an affordable outing for families. Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at CharlestonAnimalSociety.org/Tix. Tickets at the gate will be $35. With an expected crowd of 3,000 attendees, Paws in the Park is not only a celebration of Charleston Animal Society’s legacy but also a gathering for animal lovers across the Lowcountry to unite in compassion and community.
