Nov 23, 2024
StoneWater Golf Club has announced the inaugural Cleveland SantaCon Scramble, a festive 9-hole, four-person golf scramble open to the public, taking place at 10 a.m. Dec. 8.
This unique holiday-themed event invites men, women and golfers of all skill levels to dress up as Santa, elves, or any holiday characters and enjoy a morning on the greens, all for a meaningful cause, according to a news release.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Hope for the Holidays, a Cuyahoga County Health Service program dedicated to bringing joy to children in foster care by providing Christmas gifts during the holiday season, the release stated.
WKYC has joined the Cleveland SantaCon Scramble as the official media sponsor, helping bring attention to this heartwarming event and its mission of supporting local community.
Each participant’s $90 entry fee includes a donation to Hope for the Holidays, breakfast before play, a post-round lunch buffet with a Browns vs. Steelers watch party, and prizes. Plus, for every unwrapped gift that golfers bring, participants will be granted one mulligan.
“We’re thrilled to bring the community together in the spirit of the season for a fun day of golf and holiday cheer,” Jimmy Hanlin, director of Golf at StoneWater and emcee of the event, stated in the release. “By joining us at The Cleveland SantaCon Scramble, golfers can have a great time on the course while helping spread hope and joy to kids in need.”
Guests who don’t wish to golf but would still like to support Hope For The Holidays can register for the just the post golf buffet lunch and watch party at a cost of $35. A handful of items will be auctioned off during the watch party.
To register a foursome or just for the lunch, visit www.stonewatergolf.com. Golfers also can call the pro shop at 440-461-4653 to sign up a foursome.
The event will also include several special contests, including best costume, lowest team score, closest to the pin, and longest drive.
The outing will take place regardless of weather — if weather becomes serious, a 9-hole indoor putt putt course will be utilized instead, according to the release.
