CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) — After opening the postseason with a bye week, No. 4 Central looked refreshed in a dominating win over No. 13 West Ouachita, 45-20, to advance to the Division I Non-Select quarterfinals. Central dominated the game from the jump. After recovering a fumble early in the game, the Wildcats cashed in with a nine-yard touchdown from Marvin Joseph to go up 7-0. Quarterback Jackson Firmin, then, extended the lead to 14-0 in the first quarter with a rushing touchdown. Central led 21-0 after the first quarter. The Wildcats led 31-6 at the half and rolled in the second half to a 45-20 win. Central will face West Monroe, who defeated Mandeville in the quarterfinals.
