FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Rain is expected to hit the Central Valley this weekend and officials with the City of Clovis are helping residents get ready with sandbags. The City of Clovis says its free self-fill sandbag station is open at all hours, and there's no time like now to prepare for the storm ahead. The sandbag refill station can be found at the Clovis Corporation Yard at 155 N. Sunnyside Avenue, with a maximum of 10 bags per household. ‘Bomb cyclone’ could hit Central Valley with inches of rain City officials say it is normal for gutters to fill up to the top of the curb as part of the drainage process, however, streets where the water stops moving and pools above the top of street curbs should be reported. Clovis residents who need to report a problem, such as flooding, fallen trees, or other storm-related issues, are asked to contact the Public Utilities Department at (559) 324-2600.
