CORONADO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Multiple schools were placed on lockdown Thursday in Coronado, education officials said.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. due to "a reported but unsubstantiated threat against the school involving a weapon," Maria Simon with the Coronado Unified School District confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI.
Coronado High School, Coronado Middle School and Village Elementary School were all put on lockdown while authorities investigated, per CUSD. Authorities detained a person of interest who was not on campus during that time.
"After detainment, lockdowns were lifted at both Coronado Middle School and Village Elementary School. Coronado High School remained on lockdown until a sweep of the campus was completed by law enforcement," Simon said.
At 3:15 p.m., all lockdown measures were lifted.
No other information has been released about the person of interest.
