(BCN) -- A man was arrested Wednesday by the U.S. Secret Service after allegedly barricading himself in a home on a quiet residential street in Martinez. Secret Service agents, along with the Central (Contra Costa) County SWAT team, were serving a warrant to the man at a house in the 100 block of Macalvey Drive at about 7 p.m. when he allegedly refused to come out, according to Martinez police. SWAT team members "deployed diversionary tactics" while trying to get the man to talk to them and he eventually surrendered after speaking with a crisis negotiator, police said. No additional information was released and a spokesperson for the Secret Service said the agency doesn't comment on or confirm potential criminal investigations. Copyright © 2024 Bay City News, Inc
