A warming trend started today that will continue through the weekend. Our weather becomes a little more unsettled early next week with rain and snow chances in northern New Mexico. After another cold start to the day Thursday morning, a warming trend started this afternoon. High temperatures were over 15° warmer in parts of New Mexico with sunny, dry, and calm weather. This warming trend is going to continue into the weekend, with this warming trend peaking either Saturday or Sunday. Our weather becomes a little more unsettled starting Sunday as westerly winds increase. A little mid-level moisture will also start to move into northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, where spotty rain showers and mountain snow may begin as early as Sunday afternoon. This moisture will continue to stream into northern New Mexico and southern Colorado into early next week, continuing to bring a chance for a few spotty showers to areas along and norther of I-40. Snowfall is likely in the northern mountains of New Mexico and San Juans in southern Colorado through at least the middle of next week. Temperatures will cool off slightly early next week as well, but a bigger temperature drop is likely for Thanksgiving.
