PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Black Lives Mater Rhode Island and Rhode Island Police Chiefs came together today for a breakfast meeting filled with insightful conversations. BLM RI PAC and the state’s police chiefs are breaking bread in an effort to build stronger relationships and foster understanding. This gathering focused on addressing issues affecting multiple communities and working to strengthen the ties that bind them. “As a police chief and as a community member, I understand the social challenges we face in urban inner cities, and I’m pleased with the progress I’ve seen over the past 31 years,” said Police Chief, Oscar Perez. “The goal is to talk to those who can make decisions and to be at the table for these crucial discussions,” said a BLM representative. Both groups tell us they plan to keep these conversations going, hoping to create a safer and more united community. Categories: News
