OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - According to the Oklahoma County Detention Center (OCDC), a former detention officer has been accused to smuggling contraband into the jail. OCDC says the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) arrested Casey Slone after she allegedly brought contraband into the jail and engaged in illegal communications using a contraband cellphone with someone who was incarcerated. "The actions of this former detention officer are an outright betrayal of the trustplaced in them by the public and their colleagues. Smuggling contraband into thefacility endangers lives, compromises security, and undermines the integrity of ourentire justice system,” said Brandi Garner, Oklahoma County Detention Center CEO. Officials say Slone was hired as a detention officer in August 2023. She was terminated in July 2024 after being arrested by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for trying to smuggle contraband into a state prison in Pittsburg County. According to ODOC, information given to the department led investigators to May 14, 2024, when Slone supposedly brought in contraband during her lunch break. Surveillance camera footage and recorded phone calls alleged that she brought in K2-laced papers and other items to be delivered to an inmate. Officials say Slone is facing two charges; Carry as weapon, drugs or alcohol into jail and Accessing a computer system or network with unlawful intent. She has since been released on bond.
