Friend of Elvis Presley lights up Graceland for a 'Blue Christmas'

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A member of Elvis Presley's "Memphis Mafia" is helping Graceland celebrate a "Blue Christmas."
The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony was held Thursday night at the home of Elvis. Hundreds of blue lights decorate the lawn, along with a life-sized nativity scene and other holiday decorations.

Presley's close friend and legendary music talent manager Jerry Schilling flipped the switch for Graceland's Christmas Spectacular.
Schilling talked about what it's like to be back home at Graceland.

"60 years ago when I moved in, the decorations, it was a storage room of Christmas decorations. So what an honor 60 years later to able to switch the lights on and to be here with you fans and fans around the world," he said.
Schilling is also featured prominently in the new Netflix documentary that debuted last week called "Return of the King: The Fall and Rise of Elvis Presley." It's the story behind Elvis' 1968 comeback special.
