FOX8 WGHP journalists named finalists for 4 regional Emmy awards in 2024

(WGHP) — FOX8 WGHP and its journalists have been nominated for four awards in the 39th Annual Nashville/Midsouth Emmy Awards.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognizes excellence in television with the Emmy Awards. There are 19 regional chapters of NATAS, including Nashville/Midsouth which encompasses Tennessee, all of North Carolina except for Asheville, and the Huntsville, Alabama, television market.
In the "News Special" category, FOX8 WGHP was nominated for its special, "NC Zoo 50 Wild Years." The special was produced by FOX8 reporter/producer Shannon Smith Priddy, photographer Greg Ryder, photographer/producer Jeff Kilduff, photographer Cory Johnson and photographer Arianne Tong.
In the "Magazine Program" category, FOX8 anchor and Roy's Folks host Chad Tucker was nominated for "The Memory Makers."
In the "Writer - Long Form Content" category, Tucker was nominated for "Father & Son: Backroad Memories with Ole Blue."
And in the "Writer - Spot Announcement" category, Tucker, founder of the nonprofit Roe Roe's Heroes Childhood Cancer Foundation, was nominated for "Roe Roe's Heroes: Kids are worth more than 4%."
The Emmy Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 15, 2025, at 7 p.m.
