CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lieutenant Tina Guiler, a 25-year veteran firefighter is turning heads at the Southern Christmas Show with her Triple F Dolls — plush firefighter dolls designed to empower young girls. Triple F stands for Fierce, Female Firefighters, a nod to a traditionally dominant male profession. Just 6% of women are firefighters and Guiler is hoping to inspire the next generation of female firefighters that they can do anything. Proceeds from the dolls benefit Guiler’s Triple F Foundation, which helps injured and ill firefighters. Guiler, a breast cancer survivor, says she is often met with surprise from girls that women can also be firefighters and hopes the dolls shows girls that they can do and be whoever they want — even become firefighters themselves.
