Just before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the 7700 block of Route 1 for report of a pedestrian struck. When they arrived, officers found a man in the ditch adjacent to the roadway. According to police, he had been walking along the side of the road at the time he was hit. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The driver, who left the scene following the crash, returned shortly after police arrived.
