WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Ocean State Job Lot is set to open its newest store in Warwick this weekend. The locally-owned discount retailer announced that the Quaker Lane store will officially welcome its first shoppers Saturday afternoon. Ocean State Job Lot bought the former Christmas Tree Shops earlier this year in hopes of revitalizing the desolate shopping plaza. SEE ALSO: Dave’s Hot Chicken to open in Middletown The 39,000 square-foot store marks Ocean State Job Lot's third in Warwick and 17th in Rhode Island overall. The Christmas Tree Shops, which was best known for selling a variety of seasonal items and home décor, filed for bankruptcy last year and closed all of its stores for good after defaulting on a loan. Ocean State Job Lot has made a name for itself over the past few years when it comes to revitalizing vacant storefronts. Since 2019, the retailer has bought a number of vacant Toys "R" Us stores throughout the Northeast and moved into several former Benny’s locations across Rhode Island. Close Thanks for signing up!
