OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A former Oklahoma County Detention Center detention officer was booked into jail on Wednesday after allegedly attempting to smuggle contraband into a state prison.
According to the OCDC, 31-year-old Casey Slone was fired on July 30 after she was arrested by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for attempting to smuggle contraband into a state prison in Pittsburg County. She was initially hired as a detention officer on August 21, 2023.
Slone is accused of coordinating a contraband drop during her lunch break on May 14. Investigators say surveillance footage and recorded phone calls indicate Slone smuggled K2-laced papers and other contraband into the facility and delivered the contraband to an inmate.
Slone faces charges of carrying a weapon, drugs or alcohol into jail, and accessing a computer system or network with unlawful intent. She has since posted a $10,000 bond and was released from custody.
