Lomira celebrates State title while breaking records generations in the making

Lomira (12-2) beat Grantsburg (12-2) in the second game of the 2024 WIAA state high school football championships 26-19, taking home their school's first State Championship.Lomira High School hosted a pep rally for the team as they returned from Madison. Tim Schaumberg was in the crowd, it's one of the many moments of history he's seen from the Lomira Lions. Tim was a star running back for the team in the 1990s, earning himself the school's single-season rushing record, 1785 yards. "You dont want to lose the record but if your kid breaks it, then thats every fathers dream." After the championship game, Taylor now has the record by over 200 yards. "I never thought Id be the one to break it," Taylor told TMJ4 news. "It was always my goal to just be good and be myself and just play."Taylor scored three touchdowns in the championship game. Every rush, he credits to his teammates. "When I was able to celebrate with my teammates in the end zone, that's one of the best feelings in the world," Taylor said. "When you know that your teammates are out there blocking for you too, and they want to be a part of your success as well."It's a day the team will never forget. Its about time to watch on your time.
