Threelegged dog on the lam after escaping vet visit

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — An injured dog rescued from under a house in Mississippi needs another miracle.
Charlie's Crusader's Pet Rescue said the one-year-old lab mix named Bailey recently had her injured right front leg amputated and got loose during a visit to a veterinarian.
Her leg was removed on Nov. 5. Monday, they went for a follow-up visit, and that's when Bailey jumped out of her foster parent's arms in the parking lot and got away.
The dog was still wearing a cone when she took off from the parking lot of Bluff City Veterinarian Specialists on Forest Hill Irene Road on Monday.

Wednesday night, the pup was spotted at the Mike Ross Soccer Complex nearby.
"A person saw her crossing the road, Forest Hill Irene, coming into the soccer complex here," said Mike Guice.
Mike Guice, a volunteer with Charlie's Crusaders, was searching for Bailey in the wooded area around the soccer fields. He said they are concerned about the well-being of the three-legged dog that still has stitches and staples.
"They put some food stations out some clothing from the foster's because sometimes that will attract the dog back in when they smell something that is comforting or familiar," said Guice.
Guice said the rescue group has contacted a company that offers drone services. However, before they can use a drone, they need a specific area to search for the dog.
Guice said people who have seen social media posts about Bailey are also stepping up to search for the lost dog.
"They are driving around looking as well. So, we are getting a lot of support from the area for this dog," he said.
Bailey is a friendly dog that is highly motivated by food. If you have seen her or are able to catch her, you can contact Charliei's Crusaders at (901) 496-1962.
